What did you guys think about the first ever YouTube Music Awards? Weren’t they a blast to watch? Unlike the typical awards show, (other the being streamed online rather than televised) the YouTube Music Awards had a less than enjoyable homemade style, featuring video footage that seemed to have been recorded with one of those crappy flip phone cameras, but somehow the show still managed to be awesome. How is that even possible?
Well, despite the mediocre cinematography and the hosts’ chit-chat between segments that was obviously unrehearsed, the show was loaded with mishaps, humor and plain chaos, making it extremely fun to watch. Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler The Creator grabbed crotches and spat in people’s faces, Vanessa Hudgens got in a fake cat fight, Lady Gaga cried out, “I need you more than dope!”, Macklemore thanked “the guy who used to sell me shrooms” after winning the award for YouTube Breakthrough, and for some strange reason crying babies were involved. It was insane!
