Billy Currington Charged With Threatening An Elder

Country music star Billy Currington has been indicted on charges of making terroristic threats and threatening bodily harm to an elderly man.  A Georgia grand jury claims there is enough evidence to issue a bench warrant.

The incident occurred on April 15 on the Back River in Tybee Island, Georgia between the country singer and 70-year-old tour boat captain Charles Ferrelle. According to TMZ, a verbal argument occurred at a dock owned by Currington after Ferrelle ferried two boats of tourist past the country singer’s house. Currington then allegedly boarded the vessel, followed the group to a public dock, and then verbally abused the boat captain, even threating his life.

One report claims the reason Currington was so upset is because Ferrelle steered his boat too close to the country singer’s dock. A witness told cops that the boat’s wake almost knocked an elderly man into the water.

Regardless, District Attorney Meg Heap spokesman Daniel Baxter says a warrant has been issued for Currington’s arrest.

Currington is a Georgia native and is best known for his 2010 #1 country hit “Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer”.
