At New York’s McKittrick Hotel Monday night, Dave Grohl took the stage alongside his Foo Fighters bandmate Taylor Hawkins and Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction for an impromptu performance of the Rolling Stone’s “Miss You” and Bob Dylan’s “From A Buick 6.”
Grohl, Hawkins, and Farrell were attending a party celebrating the release of rock photographer Danny Clinch’s new book Danny Clinch: Still Moving. Clinch and his Tangiers Blues Band were also a part of the performance, and singer-songwriter Jesse Malin joined in on the Bob Dylan cover.
This week, the Foo Fighters have been performing on The Late Show with David Letterman for a five-night residency. They took on Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” with Zac Brown Monday night and jammed out with Heart on their song “Kick It Out” Tuesday night.
The Foo Fighters’ eighth album Sonic Highways hits stores November 10. Their documentary series about recording the album premieres this Friday on HBO.
