Coldplay surprised fans today by releasing a brand new single titled “Midnight”.
At exactly midnight on February 25th, Coldplay pulled a “Beyonce” and surprised fans by releasing a brand new song titled “Midnight” along with a music video for it on Youtube. The “Midnight” video was directed by Mary Wigmore, who also directed the video for their song “The Hardest Part” from the album X&Y. The video has a psychedelic mood with a black and white filter. Inverted silhouettes of the band are shown throughout the music video.
“Midnight” is the latest single from the band since they released the “Atlas” lyric video back in September for the “Catching Fire soundtrack”. Both singles are now rumored to be songs from their upcoming 6th studio album to be released later this year, along with new tour dates.
