Seventeen years after the death of Tupac Shakur, a biopic is finally in the works for one of the greatest rappers of all time.
Emmett/Furla Films and Morgan Creek Productions announced in a press release that they are in final negotiations to partner in a biopic about Tupac Shakur titled Tupac. The release states that Tupac will begin filming next year in Atlanta and will be executive produced by Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur.
The biopic will focus on Tupac’s rise to fame, his participation in the East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry and the events leading up to his death in Las Vegas.
No official statement has been made on who will play the role of Tupac or who will direct the film.
