The Killers Invade ‘Boardwalk Empire’

The first look of the fifth and final season of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire trailer features gangsters, glamor, violence and even music from The Killers for a modern twist.

The new full-length trailer for Boardwalk Empire season is set to “Tranquilize”, a song by The Killers which features Lou Reed from their 2007 B-sides compilation album Sawdust. The Prohibition-era drama set in Atlantic City usually features music from the 1890s to 1920s period performed by artists such as Regina Spektor, Leon Redbone and Vince Giordano, but this final season producers changed it up by featuring a song by Las Vegas based band The Killers.

“Tranquilize” gives the trailer a flashier vibe as the final and fifth season prepares us for an intense ending. Boardwalk Empire season five premieres on September 7th on HBO.
