Has Taylor Swift ditched her golden locks?
The award-winning songstress was spotted sporting a fresh brunette “do,” and – although I totally freaked out about the shocking news at first – I think Swift’s new hair rocks! It gives the chick some edge. At first glance, I couldn’t help but think that if Swift had rocked the brunette hairstyle with her red and black fitted dressed during her epic CMT Awards performance earlier this year, that would have been an even more awesome look for the pop star.
Swift is currently shooting scenes for her new movie, The Giver, and apparently her character in the film has brunette hair! That explains the random hair change, but unfortunately the hot new Swift look is a total fake! It turns out that Taylor’s new brunette hair is nothing more than a wig, being worn only during filming for the movie. What a bummer!
Brunette hair or not, landing a role in the upcoming film is a major accomplishment for Swift. But how exactly did the singer get involved in the movie?
“Actually, the movie came about very unexpectedly,” Swift said in an interview with ABC News Radio. “When I played my shows in L.A., I was unaware that people from this movie were in the audience, and I had a role offered to me the next week,” she added. “I think my show tends to be very emotional and moody and they saw something that they needed in the role. So, I’m very honored and lucky to get to be a part of it, and we’ll see how it goes.”
The Giver is expected to hit theaters in 2014. The film also stars Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites, and Cameron Monaghan.
