Some of the Spice Girls have reunited and may soon be releasing new music, according to the Telegraph.
Geri Horner (Ginger Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) recorded some tracks earlier this week at Play Deep studios in London. Reportedly, they plan to release an album later this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut single” Wannabe.”
Mel B posted a photo on Instagram of the reunion:
“It’s funny, because back in the day people thought we had everything written for us but we’ve always written all our own songs,” Mel B told the Mirror.
“That’s why we’ve won Ivor Novello awards and all sorts. Everything always comes from us, and to do something for our 20-year anniversary is the ultimate dream,” she added. “If we do anything, we will be writing everything from scratch. We are all group texting and speak a lot.”
Currently, there is no official record contract to release the music.
The group will also reportedly play a few live dates worldwide in 2017. However, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) will likely not join them since she will be busy “launching her forthcoming Estee Lauder collection,” according to her spokesperson. It is also unlikely that Mel C (Sporty Spice) will be a part of it, since she stated earlier this year that she is focused on her solo career.
