The feat was accomplished after the 25-year-old singer sold 5,000 copies last week, bringing her grand total to 10,001,000, according to Neilsen Soundscan. Worldwide the singer has sold more than 30 million albums since she released her first studio album back in 2005. To date, her best-selling album is 2007’s Good Girl Gone Bad with 2.8 million copies sold.

The award was created to honor an artist whose body of work has made a profound influence over pop music on a global level.
