Prince Demanded the Kardashians Be Axed From His ‘New Girl’ Episode

When Prince made a guest appearance on an episode of Fox’s New Girl back in 2014, the superstar demanded that the Kardashians not appear in the episode, according to New Girl star Zooey Deschanel.

While on Conan Monday night, Deschael discussed Prince’s cameo on the show and revealed that Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian were originally set to appear in the episode.

“I get there the day Prince is supposed to arrive and I’m studying my lines and one of the PAs comes in and she’s like, ‘I need to take all of the sides, the scripts,’” Deschanel stated. “I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ I walk outside, and she has, like, a bonfire. She’s burning all the scripts and the call sheets.”

Prince’s episode had featured various celebrity cameos during a party scene, including L.A. Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw and models Alessandra Ambrosio and Ana Beatriz Barros.

“It turns out that someone from Prince’s camp said, ‘Who are the celebrities? I hope it’s not the Kardashians,’” Deschanel added. “Which is sad because Khloe Kardashian and Kris Jenner had very kindly come in and shot the scene…I felt so bad cause obviously everyone had gone out of their way to be there on that day but Prince was running the show.”

It wasn’t the “Purple Rain” singer’s first confrontation with a Kardashian. Back in 2011, during a concert on his Welcome 2 Tour, Prince invited Kim Kardashian on stage at Madison Square Garden only to kick her off when she wouldn’t dance.
