Outkast in Talks to Reunite Next Year

Andre “Andre 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton, the two halves of Outkast, parted ways after releasing the film Idlewild and its accompanying soundtrack in 2006, but apparently the pair is planning to link up again.

The Atlanta hip-hop duo is expected to headline the Coachella Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California next year.  The iconic festival has hosted numerous of memorable artist reunions over the course of its 14-year run, from the Pixies in 2004 to Rage Against The Machine in 2007 and Pavement in 2010. This year’s headliners included the Stone Roses and Blur, while next year’s could possibly, and hopefully, include Outkast.

Outkast’s appearance at Coachella, which kicks off on April 11, 2014, would mark the start of the duo’s reunion run and could be followed by additional festival dates in 2014.

The duo’s 2003 double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which features No. 1 singles “Hey Ya!” and “The Way You Move,” earned the Grammy award for “Album of the Year” in 2004.
