Nicki Minaj Set to Open MTV Video Music Awards
Despite her criticism of the MTV Video Music Awards, rap star Nicki Minaj will be set to open the popular award show.
Nicki had a slight beef with MTV for not nominating her controversial hit “Anaconda” for Video of the Year. The music video was one of the top songs in 2014 and is still one of the most talked about music videos today. The female MC went to Twitter to voice her frustration, take a look at the tweets below:

While MTV didn’t respond to the tweets in July, it seems the network has compensated for the nomination by announcing her the opening act earlier today.
MTV re-posted Nicki’s announcement on their Instagram page. The photo not only announced the female rapper as a performer but also played with the rumors that her and boyfriend Meek Mill were expecting. Nothing has been confirmed, but if the rumors are true its only obvious that Minaj will pull a Beyonce and show off her baby bump after her VMA performance. Take a look at the post below:
The female MC will join The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and several others as top performers for this weekend’s award show.
The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will be hosted by Miley Cyrus and will air live on Sunday, August 29th at 8 pm CST!
