Nicki Minaj is proving she’s a better rapper than the majority of her male counterparts with her new street anthem “Up In Flames.”
The 30-year-old artist had recently been getting flak from hip hop critics saying she was focusing too much on the pop world, causing her rap skills to be questioned.
Well, she’s proved her critics wrong with the new single “Up In Flames”.
“If a dude was on a that song with me, everyone would’ve talked about it and they would [argue] ‘who had the best verse,’ but when I put a song out by myself [it’s] because men run the hip-hop game,” Minaj said to MTV in a recent interview about her new song “Up In Flames”. “Let’s be honest, they’re the [radio] program directors, they wanna be able to rap stuff and they’re not gonna recite a female [verse]. They just feel funny and it is what it is.”
Just last week Minaj released the music video for her single “High School ft. Lil Wayne”.
