Nicki Minaj wants to make her debut on the big screen, but is looking for the “right movie”. Minaj has already hired a movie agent and is waiting for the right movie script to land on her desk.
Nicki spoke to the New York Post Newspaper at Elton John’s Oscars party on Sunday saying, “I would love to act, it just has to be the right project, the right movie.” The 30-year-old music star said she does not want to follow in the typical footsteps of a singer, “It won’t be nothing stereotypical about a singer.”
Mariah’s 2001 film Glitter about an aspiring singer was critically panned, as was Christina Aguilera’s Burlesque. Both Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson played the role of singers in Dreamgirls, but they have also played other major roles in film. In 2002 Beyonce played Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers: Gold Member while Hudson played the role of Rosabelle Dasie in The Secret Life of Bees in 2008.
Speaking of Mariah, Nicki added she and Mariah are getting along much better now, “All of that has been talked about. We had our differences, but it is all done with now, and we just get in there and do our job.”
