Mumford & Son’s Bassist Ted Dwane Shares Post-Surgery Photo

Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has posted the first picture of himself since being released from the hospital last Thursday.  Dwane had required surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain last week.

When the news originally broke his worried bandmates were first to alert their fans of Dwane’s hospitalization.  “Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment,” the band wrote on their website.

Due to Dwane’s absence, Mumford & Sons decided to cancel a number of US shows to allow time for their bassist to recover,  including headlining slots at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee and the Telluride Festival in Colorado.  The folk band also decided to postpone all outstanding dates on their Summer Stampede US tour until Dwane is ready to return to stage.

Dwane posted a message and picture on the Mumford and Sons website today, thanking his fans for their support.  “Bear with a sore head! Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I’m home.”
