Maroon 5 to Release New Single “Maps”

It’s been two years since Maroon 5 has released new material, but the multi-platinum, 3-time GRAMMY-Award winning band is ending the drawn-out silence and gearing up for a major comeback. Building on the success of previous releases like 2002’s debut Songs About Jane, 2007’s double platinum It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, 2010’s certified platinum Hands All Over, and 2012’s Underexposed, the pop-and-rock group will reinforce its status as a powerhouse in popular music with a brand-new, fifth studio album appropriately-titled, V.

The new Maroon 5 album won’t be released until later this year, but the LP’s lead single will arrive much sooner. The first single off of the band’s forthcoming album, titled “Maps,” will be released on June 16. There are no known details about what to expect from the song musically, but with M5’s outstanding record in regards to singles, it’s sure to be a hit. The group has a collection of hit singles, including “Makes Me Wonder,” “If I Never See your Face Again,” “Misery,” the anthemic  “Moves Like Jagger,” which is one of the best-selling singles of all time, and “Daylight.” Maroon 5 has even set a record for the most No. 1’s by a group in the Top 40 chart’s 20-year history, having six in total.

Maroon 5’s new album, V, which was recorded in LA over the past year and features production from Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin, will be released on September 2.
