After over a year of delays, Mariah Carey’s long-awaited, sort of self-titled 14th album Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse, is finally available for all to hear. The pop diva has partnered with iTunes Radio for an early stream of her new record, which is scheduled for a May 27 release, in its entirety.
The 15-track album has been available for streaming since midnight. The 44-year-old singer announced the news on Twitter yesterday evening, May 19, writing, “TONIGHT@midnight: Listen to Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse in full on iTunes Radio!.”
Last week Carey released the album’s new official single “Thirsty,” which can be heard below. The song, with its thumping electronic beat and super sexy lyrics, is a definite banger and the perfect choice single to generate pre-release hype. The brand-new “Thirsty” follows earlier singles, “#Beautiful,” “The Art Of Letting Go” and “You’re Mine (Eternal).”
Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse features appearances from Nas, Fabolous, Wale, and Mary J. Blige, and production by Jermaine Dupri, Hit-Boy, Rodney Jerkins, and Mike Will Made It. The project stands as Carey’s first full-length album release since 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.
