The 2013 American Music Awards nominations were announced by Kelly Clarkson and will.i.am Thursday morning.
This year’s nominations for “Artist of the Year” include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake, are competing for the AMA’s coveted title. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the pack with six nominations, while Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift follow closely behind with five apiece.
The AMAs have added a new category for “Single of the Year”. Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise,” and “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are all nominated for the new award.
Miley Cyrus and Imagine Dragons are set to perform at the show this year.
The 2013 American Music Awards air live on November 24th.
