After nearly a decade, A Perfect Circle has released their first new song, along with the release date of their upcoming Greatest Hits album.
The studio version of “By and Down” is A Perfect Circle’s first new song in nine years. The single will be featured on the band’s upcoming 13-track (or 19 track deluxe set) greatest hits album titled Three Sixty, set for release on November 19th. “By and Down” was written when the band reunited back in 2010 after a five-year hiatus. Although the song has been performed live at many of the band’s shows since 2011, a studio version of the song had not been released until now.
A Perfect Circle is also digitally re-releasing their A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo box set on November 26th after it sold out of all 2,500 copies last month. The box set features 4 CDs and 1 DVD of their live performances. All three of the band’s studio albums are included in the box set: 2000’s Mer de Noms, 2003’s Thirteenth Step and 2004’s eMOTIVe. The DVD is from their 2011 performance at Red Rocks.
“Some of the songs we haven’t played in eight to 10 years,” frontman Maynard James Keenan said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “Some of them we hadn’t played at all. In the box that you have, you have those three CDs, and then you have us live at Red Rocks. Always fun to play Red Rocks.”
