Lil Wayne, at the young age of 31, has decided he will go into a semi-retirement. In an interview with MTV, the rapper revealed that his upcoming album, The Carter V, will be his last solo album.
“I personally plan on this being my final solo album,” Lil Wayne stated. “It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five. The reason being is because the way I’m working on this album, to me, it seems like it will be impossible for me to work this hard again for anything else.”
However, money would convince the rap star to record another album. “25 to 35 million would get me to do another solo album after this,” he added.
Lil Wayne will continue to support the artists on his record label, including Drake and Nicki Minaj, and be guest featured on their songs “whenever [he has] to pitch in for a Young Money album, a Like Father, Like Son album, and something like that, and maybe something out the blue.”
The Carter V is expected to be released May 5.
