The NFL confirmed on Tuesday that Lady Gaga is set to sing the national anthem at this Sunday’s Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, California.
Past performers of the “Star Spangled Banner” includes legendary vocalists, such as Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey and more. Idina Menzel performed the song for Super Bowl XLIX.
The big game, where the Carolina Panthers will take on the Denver Broncos at Levi’s Stadium, includes a star-studded musical lineup – with Coldplay and Beyonce performing during the halftime show.
Gaga, who’s had a remarkable 2016 so far, recently won a Golden Globe for her performance on “American Horror Story: Hotel” and is nominated for an Academy Award for best original song for “Til It Happens To You.” Later this month, the singer is also slated to perform a David Bowie tribute at the Grammy Awards.
