Lady Gaga Performs Stunning Cover Of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’

At the opening ceremony for the 2015 European Games at Azerbaijan’s Baku Olympic Stadium, Lady Gaga performed a speechless cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Seated behind a piano adorned with roses, Gaga remained faithful to Lennon’s rendition in the first half, but then added a little soul in the second half of the 1971 hit. “What an honor to have a few moments with the world watching,” Mother Monster posted to her Instagram page prior to her performance. “Could you imagine. What would you say?”

The inaugural European Games began June 12^th and will conclude on the 28^th. During the event, 6,000 athletes, from 50 of Europe’s National Olympic Committees, will compete in 20 total sports, including cycling, badminton, table tennis, beach soccer and archery.
