Lady Gaga Cancels Remainder of ‘Born This Way Ball’ Tour

Lady Gaga has cancelled the remainder of her Born This Way Ball tour after announcing she must undergo hip surgery.

Live Nation Global Touring announced the news on Wednesday after tests showed Gaga had torn her labrum, a ring of soft elastic tissue, in her right hip.  This injury is common among athletes and dancers, and the injury can easily be fixed using arthroscopic surgical techniques.  The operation will require a significant amount of time for her to recover in order to get back into performance shape.

The pop star announced the news that she could no longer perform by Tweeting, “I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t”.

There is no word whether this injury will effect the release date of Gaga’s upcoming album ARTPOP.  Last month the album’s producer Zedd said, “there’s still a lot of work left.”
