Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett to Release Full-Length Jazz Album

It has been confirmed that chart topper Lady Gaga will be releasing a Jazz album with legendary singer Tony Bennett.  According to Rolling Stone, soon after releasing a collaboration with Bennett on his 2011 album, Duets II, Gaga reportedly called Bennett from Australia asking if they could put together an entire album.

Supposedly before working on the 2011 collaboration, “The Lady is a Tramp”, Gaga consumed whiskey all day before the studio session to calm her nerves. According to Rolling Stone, Bennett quickly responded to Gaga’s request over the phone and plans to deliver a full –length, big-band swing/jazz album.

Grammy Award winning arranger, Marion Evans, has been announced on the project.   A veil of secrecy has surrounded the composer for the album. Bennett referred to the composer as someone “not as famous as Gershwin or Porter … but he did as many hit songs as anybody”.

“I can’t mention the composer because I don’t want anybody to do it before we do it,” Bennett admitted.  The legend referred to Gaga as “a phenomenal jazz singer” and “ the musical Picasso”.

No date has been set on the project but, for fans of Bennett and Gaga, anticipation will be yet a gift for the magnitude of the project.
