Family connections have landed Kris Jenner an interview with superstar rapper Kanye West.
Thanks to Jenner’s status as the grandmother of West’s newborn daughter, the typically media-shy rapper agreed to participate in a special interview with the 57-year-old that will air on her new talk show, Kris.
The hour-long interview was taped on Monday when Kanye stopped by the set of Kris. It will be aired on her show later this week.
West, who welcomed his first child with girlfriend Kim Kardashian in June, opened up to Jenner during the interview. A source says the rapper “is really bringing it” during the chat which focuses on his relationship with Kim, their two-month-old baby girl North West, and his notoriously rocky relationship with the press.
West also addresses President Obama’s comments made last month about how celebrities like Kanye and Kim have shifted the idea of the American dream. “There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous,” the president said at the time. “Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.”
The episode will air on select Fox stations – including New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas – on August 23 during the final episode of a six-week trial run of the show.
