Last week, Kanye West’s studio in Calabasas, California where he recorded some of the tracks to his latest album Life of Pablo was robbed, according to TMZ.
Police were called to the scene on May 24 after it was discovered that a door to the studio had been pried open the night before. The thief had managed to take about $20,000 worth of desktop computers and laptops. TMZ also reports that due to “heavy-duty tech security,” no sensitive information was hacked. West’s team has already replaced the stolen equipment.
The police and West reportedly think it was an inside job, considering the studio is located in a modest building. There are currently no suspects.
This isn’t the first time someone has stolen from West. In his song “Real Friends,” West raps about an instance when his cousin took his laptop that had sex tapes on it. West had to pay him $250,000 to get it back.
