About the band:
The Secret State almost didn’t make it. Following the events of 9/11, 3 of the band members (Dan, Josh and Mike) decided to place their music career on hold and tour on active duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. After serving their country, they have arrived, with their unique electronic tinged sound, to serve their fans. The 3 members that were at war for us along with the other 2 members (Danny and Hunter), have written heartfelt lyrics as well as a amazing electronic sound that’s has Radio, Press and Social Media buzzing.
On their journey to identify with their sound, they crafted “The Biggest Mistake”, the first single off of their upcoming album. The song, a captivating and deeply personal effort constructed with precision, lets everyone know that they’re here to make an indelible mark in the music landscape. The Video is schedule for release in September will have many eliminates of surprise to stimulate the audience.
The Secret State, previously known as Alice Anna, reached a career high opening up for national acts such as Hinder, Jack’s Mannequin, Tantric, Shinedown and many others. After winning countless battle of the band competitions and playing night after night at bars/festivals/concert venues, the group earned a reputation for good music and energetic performances which led them to perform three consecutive years at the famed South By Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, TX and gain national critical acclaim.
In 2012, they landed an independent record deal with Stealth Tiger Entertainment and relocated to Los Angeles to record their album. Wanting to incorporate more electronic elements to their rock roots, Jones reached out to long-time electronic music enthusiast Danny Espinosa, an old friend and Coast Guard battle buddy. His ‘beeps and boops’ (as the band likes to call them) gave the group the original electronica / rock ‘blend’ it had been hoping for.
Now complete, The Secret State has begun to lay the grounds for what it hopes will become the next musical phenomenon. In the upcoming months and as they put the final touches to their upcoming album, the band will launch a national promo tour to introduce a sound that will rock the airwaves and transport the listeners to a new state—The Secret State.
