Beats Music, a new music streaming service, was launched today by Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. The music streaming company has been the subject of tremendous anticipation since its forthcoming was announced about a year ago, and now the service is officially live and accessible.
Beats Music’s potential is unknown, with the service entering a competitive on-demand market of already existing music providers like iTunes Radio, Pandora, Spotify, Rhapsody, Google Music and more, but the company has managed to ramp up support from a number of celebrities, including Sharon Osbourne, Will.i.am, Florida Georgia Line and Pearl Jam.
Priced at $9.99 a month, Beats Music will offer unlimited, ad-free streaming of over 20 million songs. The service will be available on all the usual platforms, including iOS and Android. New users have a seven-day free trial period to evaluate the service, before deciding whether to sign up or not.
