You may be unfamiliar with Wardell, but the band will soon be a household name, triggering music radars worldwide. For those out of the loop on the soon-to-be trend(s) in music, Wardell is an indie duo composed of Sasha and Theo Spielberg – children of Hollywood director Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw.
The two are the newest signees to Jay Z’s Roc Nation management group, having been added to the book recently. So, how did the talented pair link up with hip hop mogul Jay Z? Let’s just say the brother-sister duo kicked butt at the South By Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas earlier this year, impressing Mr. Carter enough to invite them into the Roc Nation family.
Wardell is in illustrious company at the management label along with familiar names Kylie Minogue, Haim, Shakira, Rihanna, Calvin Harris and Rita Ora. The talented pair released their first EP, appropriately-titled, Brother/Sister back in June. Check out the EP’s leading track “Opposum” below.
