During Game 5 of the NBA Finals rapper Jay-Z announced that he will be releasing his 12th studio album on July 4th. The announcement came in the form of a three minute Samsung commercial that featured Jay-Z along with Pharrell Williams, Rick Rubin, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz working on the acclaimed rapper’s upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail.
During the commercial Jay-Z describes the album saying, “It’s about this duality of, how do you navigate your way through this whole thing, through success, through failure, through all of this, and remain yourself?”
Since the iconic rapper is teaming up with Samsung, the first one million owners of a Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4 and the Galaxy Note II will have the opportunity to download a customized mobile app and listen to the album for free three days before it is released to the general public.
