Coldplay gave James Corden a special birthday treat Sunday night!
Coldplay invited the Late Late Show host up on stage at their concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California Sunday night to perform a cover of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which was made famous by Sinéad O’Connor.
“We’re here at the Rose Bowl. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how big it was when I said, ‘yes,'” Corden, who turned 38 Monday, told the crowd. “I’m a little nervous, but thanks to the four of you on behalf of this audience …for this incredible night that you have given us all. Irrespective of my being here, I’ll never forget it. Truly.”
After they finished the tune, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin presented Corden with a birthday cake and encouraged the audience to sing “Happy Birthday” to him.
