Ice-T’s Body Count Announce New Album for 2014

This year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest included the return of Body Count, a thrash metal outfit lead by gangsta rap pioneer Ice-T. The band, originally formed in 1990, reunited in Austin over the weekend for an explosive performance on the Blue stage.

Following the band’s performance, Ice-T and Body Count announced the release of a new album, Manslaughter, which is due out early next year. “We called last night the ‘TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE’ We’re BACK! The new BC album 2014,” Ice-T wrote on Twitter shortly after the live performance.

Manslaughter will mark Body Count’s fifth LP. The band’s most recent release was 2006’s Murder 4 Hire.
