Lady Gaga has been in Howard Stern’s dog house ever since she cancelled an appearance on his show back in June. Stern’s feather’s were ruffled not so much by the drop but by the fact that on they day she was scheduled to be a guest on his show she was actually on with Gayle King. Both shows originate from the Sirius satellite radio building in New York City.
It seems that there were no hard feelings once Gaga arrived this morning shortlty after 8am eastern. Stern immediatley commented on the pop diva’s wardrobe (or lack there of) which did not include pants.
Nothing shocking there.
Whether you like Lady Gaga or not, the girl is definitely not boring.
I like the song “paparazzi” and that’s about it. But again, I give her props for being interesting. When Stern asked her about how much money she had made, she replied “I don’t give a f**k about money,” and added “my apartment in Brooklyn is smaller than your studio.” Gaga said that she really hasn’t splurged on anything but she has taken care of her dad. “I bought my dad a Rolls Royce and paid for his heart surgery.”
Howard then asked “your last tour made $116 million dollars, what are
you doing with money?” She said she really didn’t know how much money the tour made. “Monster Ball (tour) was expensive and the next one will be expensive and I will pay for it” the singer said.
The interview then turned to when she started playing the piano. “I
was four years old when I started playing piano” Gaga said. According to the singer she did not have formal musical training until later on.
“My first piano teacher was a stripper.” This caught Howard’s attention (kinda of like throwing raw chicken at an alligator). He immediately wanted to know how this fact was revealed to the young aspiring musician? She told him that her dad knew that her instructor was a dancer at the notorious New York strip club Scores.
The conversation then turned to love. When asked about her boyfriend
Gaga replied “what boyfriend.” She more or less told Howard that she didn’t currently have a guy. “It’s hard to find a boyfriend.”
Howard then asked “so you haven’t been laid in a while?” Apparently not the case because the singer quickly replied “I got laid last night… I know that makes me sound like a whore.” Don’t take this out of context dear readers because while I was listening to this I was struck by the fact that Gaga just seemed like a regular person that just happens to be super famous. It may have been an act but was I was buying it.
I don’t get to catch Howard that much because no longer have Sirius.
So I have to thank my colleague DJ Triple G for letting me listen in on his iPhone. Oh and Lady Gaga did perform “Edge of Glory” and “Hair” in studio for the listeners. I may have to renew my subscription.
Here is Gaga’s performance of “Hair” this morning on the Howard Stern Show.
