Yes, it’s true. Dave Grohl, of Nirvana and Foo Fighters fame has announced a project he is working on with members of the 80’s rock group Ratt. In case you have forgotten that band, or have never heard of them, here is a refresher:

Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy confirmed the collaboration via twiiter saying, “”We’ll let [Dave] tell you about when he’s ready, kidz. Not for a Ratt record.” He added: “Thing is it’s a way cool thing of Dave. We’re just privileged to be a part of that. Next Ratt!”

The project has been titled simply “TBA” and is a side thing for Grohl.

Grohl also recently announced that the Foo Fighters would be headed back to the studio for a new album this year.

The recent Foos release “Wasting Light” has been nominated in six categories for the upcoming Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

It will be interesting to hear how this side project with Ratt turns out. We’ll keep you posted.
