Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott debuted their version of the Ghostbusters theme song Thursday.
“Ghostbusters (Not Afraid)” is a remake of Ray Parker Jr.’s 1984 hit and is vastly different from the happy-sounding original. The new version has more of a rock sound and features ominous and creepy noises throughout. Missy Elliott’s one verse in the middle of the song adds a bit of hip-hop.
The track is from the soundtrack for the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, which hits theaters July 15. The soundtrack will also features artists Elle King, ZAYN*, G-Eazy, Jeremih, 5 Seconds of Summer, Pentatonix, and Walk the Moon.
