Eminem Releases “Berzerk” Music Video

Less than 24 hours since its release, the music video to Eminem’s new theme song, “Berzerk,” has garnered over 3 million views on Youtube.

The video has an old school flair to it, featuring producer Rick Rubin and Eminem taking center stage in front of a massive room-sized boom box while the song is played on a giant cassette tape. Rappers Kendrick Lamar and Kid Rock both make guest appearances in the video, both of which Eminem mentions in the song’s lyrics, as well as hip hop supergroup Slaughterhouse.

For the track, Rick Rubin sampled some of his previous work, the Beastie Boys’ “The New Style” and “Fight for Your Right” which he produced for their 1986 debut album Licensed to Ill. The song also samples Billy Squier’s “The Stroke”.

“Berzerk” debuted at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to receiving significant airplay and selling 362,000 downloads in its first week of release.
