Hermitude has announced their 2016 return to the US with Dim Mak Records’ Keys ‘N Krates and Dutch Producer/DJ Ganz.
Australia’s multi-instrumentalists, Luke Dubber (aka Luke Dubs) and Angus Stuart (aka El Gusto), have collaborated since they were 16 and 11, respectively. The current album Dark Night Sweet Light reached #1 on the CMJ RPM chart and at home, the album debuted at #1 on the ARIA album chart and is currently nominated for 7 ARIA awards including Album Of The Year, Best Group, Best Live Act and more.
The album features guest appearances from Big KRIT, Estelle, Pell and Chuck Inglish. Dark Night Sweet Light follows platinum-selling HyperParadise, with which the band won Australia’s Music Prize, modeled after Britain’s Mercury Music Prize and Canada’s Polaris Prize, whose single goal is to identify and reward the most outstanding creative Australian album of the year. Hermitude beat a shortlist of talented artists, including Tame Impala, The Presets and friend/collaborator, electronic producer and instrumentalist Flume.
2015 festival appearances include Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, SXSW, Lightning In A Bottle, HARD Summer, Osheaga, Summer Camp, Splash House, Wakarusa, Counterpoint and BUKU Music + Art Project.
Kicking off the tour, Hermitude’s track “The Buzz” from Dark Night Sweet Light is featured in the new Samsung commercial for the new smart watch Samsung Gear S2.
