Cops Arrested For Stealing Items From Jenni Rivera Crash Site

The Mexican government announced today that two officials from the one of the country’s new state police forces have been arrested on suspicion of stealing items from the Jenni Rivera plane crash site.

The Nuevo Leon state government says one of the officials, a 23-year-old state police officer, was arrested after leaking photos of the crash to the media, including images of body parts and personal items.  A second officer, who’s 24-years-old, was arrested after state officials searched his home and found items belonging to victims of the crash.

Both of the officers arrested are part of the brand new Nuevo Leon state police.  The new police force is supposed to be less corrupt and more effective at fighting crime than its predecessor.
