Conrad Murray Gets Four Years Prison- UPDATE

This is the final chapter in the case of the former Michael Jackson doctor, Conrad Murray.

After receiving testimony from former patients of Murray as well as a plea in the form of a letter from Murray’s own mother, Judge Michael Pastor sentenced the now convicted felon to four years in prison.

The hearing opened by Judge Pastor denying a defense motion to ban cameras and audio recording in the courtroom.

In sentencing Murray, the judge said, “he (Murray) is and remains dangerous to the public.”

Judge Pastor has set a date of January 23, 2012 to discuss restitution to the Jackson family.

It is likely attorneys for Murray will file an appeal.

UPDATE: The Los Angeles County Sheriff is now saying convicted felon Conrad Murray will only serve two of the four years. At this point, he is NOT eligible for home sentencing.

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said that officials were still trying to determine the exact details of his incarceration. But under state law, nonviolent felons in California serve 50% of their sentences.
