Chris Brown got swatted, but not literally.
Monday afternoon police responded to a domestic incident involving a dispute and a reported gun at the home of Chris Brown.
The LAPD later learned the incident was a complete hoax.
Law enforcement sources tell us that the caller claimed a mother and father were in a fight when the father went into another bedroom to grab a gun. Immediately after, the caller hung-up and never mentioned the address given was Chris Brown’s.
This particular style of prank is referred to as ‘swatting’ and has become quite the popular item lately. Most recently, someone falsely reported a man with a gun in the home of Kris and Bruce Jenner.
LAPD says they are determined to catch the crooks behind this stunt. Each incident can cost tax payers upwards of $10,000.
