‘Carpool Karaoke’ Heading to Apple Music

Carpool Karaoke has been a popular segment on the Late Late Show with James Corden and has featured some of the biggest celebrities, including Adele, First Lady Michelle Obama, One Direction, Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber, and more. The segment is now becoming its own TV series and will be exclusively available to Apple Music subscribers.

Apple’s music service, which costs $9.99 a month, purchased 16 episodes of the series. Each new episode will premiere weekly and will show a celebrity singing along to their own tunes alongside the show’s host, who will not be Corden, as they drive to places that are meaningful to the celebrity. The new host has yet to be announced.

“We love music, and Carpool Karaoke celebrates it in a fun and unique way that is a hit with audiences of all ages,” Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue said in a statement. “It’s a perfect fit for Apple Music – bringing subscribers exclusive access to their favorite artists and celebrities who come along for the ride.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Apple Music on this exciting new series of Carpool Karaoke,” producer Ben Winston stated. “The joy of Carpool is both the intimacy it creates, while seeing the love our passengers have for music. Where better to showcase that than with Apple Music.”

CBS Television Studios and Late Late Show executive producer Winston will produce the show. A premiere date has not yet been released.

Despite it becoming its own TV series, Carpool Karaoke will remain a segment on the Late Late Show with James Corden.
