Tuesday morning, a countdown clock mysteriously appeared on Britney Spears’ website. The clock, which says “Britney Spears: All Eyes on Me,” counts down by the second to 8:30am CST on September 17.
It is unknown what exactly will occur on that date. Some speculate it is the release date of a new single or that the popstar might make an announcement regarding her upcoming eighth studio album.
The singer tweeted last week, “Patient kiddies! It’s coming MUCH sooner than you think ;)” as a response to her fans wondering when the next album would be coming.
Spears has been working with will.i.am, William Orbit, and Naughty Boy on her new record. Producer Naughty Boy stated, “It’s not out for another couple of weeks, but we’ve just started working on tracks for her until the studio session.”
In late 2012, Spears teamed up with will.i.am on the Top 5 hit, “Scream & Shout.” This summer, Spears released the song “Ooh La La,” which was the lead single from The Smurfs 2 soundtrack.
Spears’ next record is expected to drop later this year.
