Britney Spears: Carpool Karaoke Was ‘Fun’ & ‘Awkward’

In an interview with 103.5 WKTU, Britney Spears spilled about her experience with James Corden’s popular series Carpool Karaoke.

“It was fun, it was really fun,” Spears said. “The guy [Corden] was just so incredibly sweet. I had no idea he has kids, he’s a teddy bear. I was like, ‘I just want to hug you right now.’”

Spears did explain how she found it to be somewhat uncomfortable, as well. “It was a little awkward, like, driving by grocery stores. People walk by and there are like 18 cameras around us. This is just so awkward.”

The “Toxic” singer added that Corden, the executive producer of The Late Late Show, “controlled the whole thing,” and played some of her mega hits multiple times – such as “…Baby One More Time” and “Oops!… I Did It Again.”

“They didn’t show that part,” she said, jokingly. “Oh my God, and he kept playing them. He put a wig on for it. Yeah, I totally went along with it.”

So far, the duo’s Carpool Karaoke has more than 8 million views on YouTube. Watch the clip below and be sure to tune in to MTV’s VMAs this Sunday (August 28^th) where Spears will be returning to the stage for the first time since 2007.
