Breakaway Music Festival Countdown: Juicy J

Rapper Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia recently unleashed his highly anticipated album Stay Trippy under Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Records (Stay Trippy is the rapper’s first studio album release on the label).  Stay Trippy is the Memphis, Tennessee rapper’s third solo album – his earlier solo releases include 2002’s Chronicles of the Juice Man and 2009’s  Hustle Til I Die.  The new album features hit single “Bandz a Make Her Dance” (featuring 2 Chainz and Lil’ Wayne), the track that peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard 100 and fostered Juicy J’s reputation as a maker of “strip club anthems.”

Juicy J considers the strip club an inspirational place. “It’s a very inspirational place to go to, man, to get ideas for music,” the rapper explained. Juicy J’s unique writing process is a key element in the success of singles like “Bounce It,” which features Trey Songz and Wale, and “Show Out,” featuring Big Sean and Young Jeezy – as well as the entire Stay Trippy album.

Juicy J started his music career in the 90’s as a member of Southern hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia where he contributed to the group’s bass heavy bangers as an emcee. The rapper branched away from his Three 6 Mafia crew during a break in the group’s schedule to launch his solo career. In 2011, Juicy signed to Taylor Gang Records, and remained hard at work on his Stay Trippy album until its release.

Watch Juicy J perform at Breakaway Music Festival on Saturday, September 21st at FC Dallas Stadium in Dallas, TX. Purchase your tickets to the festival today by visiting www.breakawayfestival.com!
