We’d like to introduce you to one of the latest bands to venture from the Dallas area – Dark Rooms. The band released its self-titled debut album at the front end of summer 2013, and although the press doesn’t appear to be chatting much about the Dark Rooms project, the band’s fans are roaring social media with generous tweets and status’ describing the album as “fantastic,” and simply the “best album ever.” Some fans are leaping even further, stating that “Dark Rooms is the best new band in Dallas.”
Dallas-based music blog, Central Track, aren’t shy to admit they’re crushing on Dark Rooms as well. The site speaks highly of the band in a number of posts, and considers Dark Rooms’ debut album “the single most compelling album we’ve heard all year, locally based artist or not.”
Dark Rooms kicked off their September East Coast Tour at Untapped Fest in Dallas on September 7, and now the synth poppy band are swinging the tour bus around and heading back to the town that sculpted their sound. That’s right. The band will be ending the month’s bulk of shows close to home – in Frisco, at Breakaway Music Festival. Rumor has it that Dark Rooms puts on an impressive live performance, so make sure you don’t miss their set!
