Bono’s Bike Injury Is More Serious Than Once Thought

Bono, the lead singer of U2, is suffering serious injuries after he was involved in a bicycle accident over the weekend.

Bono was involved in a cycling accident when he tried to avoid another cyclist who was in his way in New York’s Central Park. Bono suffered a “facial fracture involving the orbit of his eye, three separate fractures of his left shoulder blade, and a fracture of his left humerus bone in his upper arm,” according to Rolling Stones magazine.

Bono’s humerus broke in six different places and tore through the skin of his arm. Bono was rushed to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center’s Emergency Department, where the singer underwent five hours of surgery. He also underwent a second surgery on Monday to repair a fractured left pinky finger.

U2 was set to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for a one week residency, but the band had to postpone due to Bono’s bicycle accident.
