Pop-punk band Blink-182 have announced plans to release a brand new album in the “late spring/early summer” of next year.
An image uploaded on guitarist/vocalist TomDeLonge’s Instagram account, showing off a few keyboards and guitar pedals in his home studio, partially confirms rumors of a forthcoming Blink-182 album. The image caption reads, “This my office… Inside my studio… As I record…. A New #Blink Song.”
The trio are hoping to head to the studio at the start of next year and have the record out not long after, according to bassist Mark Hoppus. “We haven’t thought about any new songs yet,” said Hoppus, but he explained that the band will write the new album when they reunite in the studio.
Blink-182 released their previous and sixth studio album Neighborhoods in 2011, afterwards splitting from their label Interscope. The band released their most recent output Dogs Eating Dogs EP in December the following year.
Blink-182 head out on a short tour of the United States this September, which includes headlining sets at Riot Fest in both Chicago and Denver.
