The Black Keys Cancel Tour After Patrick Carney Injury

The Black Keys are having to cancel the rest of the European leg of their Turn Blue World Tour due to a serious shoulder injury drummer Patrick Carney has sustained .

The band was forced to cancel and refund 17 European tour dates after doctors wouldn’t clear Carney to continue touring after damaging his should earlier this month. He reportedly slammed his shoulder on the ocean floor when swimming off the coast of Saint-Barthélemy and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

“We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances through March 10. Patrick needs time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their support and we’re looking forward to getting back on the road,” lead singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and Patrick posted on the band’s website.

The Black Keys plan to resume the rest of their Turn Blue World Tour staring on April 2nd in Brisbane, Australia.
