Billy Crystal Announces He Is Oscars Host

Actor Billy Crystal has announced via Twitter that he will be hosting the Oscars.

Although there has been no official word from the Academy or his rep he tweeted “Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show.”

Billy is no newcomer when it comes to the Academy Awards.  If true, this will be Crystal’s ninth time to host the show.

Crystal would be taking over the role previous held by Eddie Murphy.  Murphy decided to stepp down as host after his friend Brett Ratner resigned as producer after an anti-gay comment he had made caused national controversy.
