It is reported by a rep for the United States Marine Band that Beyonce was not singing “The Star Spangled Banner” during the Presidential Inauguration, rather it was prerecorded track with the band. The rep says Beyonce decided last minute to lip-sync the song over a prerecorded track on Monday.
“All music is prerecorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day,” Kristin DuBois told The Post.
The Marine band does not know why the multi-platinum singer decided not to perform live, but nonetheless followed instructions to perform live with the prerecorded vocal track.
If the lip-syncing allegations are true, fans wonder if Beyonce’s dramatic removal of her earpiece was just an act?
“Star Spangled Banner” singer Beau Davidson came to Beyonce’s defense saying “sometimes, as singers, we get sick or vocally tired, and if we can’t deliver an excellent performance, we may feel the need to lean on a prior recording.”
What are your thoughts on Beyonce lip-syncing the national anthem? Are you upset, fine with it, or does it not matter to you either way?
